I notice the internet is not on that list, though I think some of the things ont he list are used more so then the internet, such as the Rubber Band. But again, has my country tried to tell your country how to run the rubberband factories?

I agree that the internet, tcp/ip, etc. is no longer a US invention (if it ever was an invention, per se. It was however developed by the US). I don't think the UN should control it though. I think a non-UN controlled consortium of the biggest internet using countries should be created. Each should have only a single vote--regardless of how many people or how much money that country spends. Something along those lines. It would somehow need to be depoliticised and not accept any type of special interest money.

| I don't see the point of your post. It seems like just about everything the UN gets their hands on these days they just muck up.
Examples:
- Oil For Food Program
- Iraqi Weapons Inspections
Or even worse, they try to ram their ultra-liberal-left-wing viewpoint down the world's throat.
Examples:
- World Court
- World Handgun Control Program
The UN pretty much stands for Useless Nations as far as I'm concerned. It only creates a stage for wanna-be superpower nations to air their "grievances" against the United States, no matter how stupid, unjust, or ill-conceived they may be.
I would sooner see the Internet collapse than have the UN gain control over it.
