Rather than give an opinion, of which you will get 9 different ones if you got 10 different people responding, check out »Security to start with along with any answers you get to your post.

Here's a heck of a long thread about which proggie is the best AT:

»Who's the Best?

Edit: BTW, that thread is a year-and-a-half old so review it with that in mind! (Do you really think all the posters have changed their opinions 'bout their favorite AT since then? )

Re: best worm/trojan catcher...

Ain't gonna argue with you, bellgamin but...I'm pretty fond of TrojanHunter. (Remember, that's just my 2¢) I think they're both great programs with good support. Both the McAleaveys and Magnus Mischel are dedicated and responsive folks. When I first was looking for a dedicated AT program these two were the "cream of the crop" and it was very hard for me to decide on which one to choose. I don't think anyone could go too wrong with either one.

BTW, anyone else notice we TH folks are getting almost daily updates lately? Gotta like that!

Edit: Didn't mean to imply that BoClean subscribers don't receive the same!

I'm running BOClearn and Ewido in real-time. I haven't seen much difference between the two other tahn Ewido has an on-demand scanner that will pick up some cookies sometims. When I am in a pinch, I run TDS-3 and TrojanHunter on-demand. TDS-3 seems to catch more real nasties. All are different, but if I had my choice of one, I think it would be TDS-3, but it would not be sufficient. Either BOCLean or Ewido for real-time.

Re: best worm/trojan catcher...

I use a-squared and ewido as FREE on demand scanners.
Are there any other free on demand AT?

Not that I know of. a² and ewido are the free on-demand AT that are usually used here.
