| FTP Access problem I visited the ftp enable link, and I am unable to access the ftp site via two different programs I tried. It would prompt for the password, and would give an incorrect login error. I waited at least a minute before I even started trying to connect to the ftp server.
So I logged out of the site, and logged back in through my browser just to make sure, there was no problem logging back into the site with the same exact username/password.
I tried with my command line ftp program three times, all came back with the error so I tried from the webpage which lets you browse the folders contents for a direct download, you just need to type in your password, and that gave the same error.
I can only guess that there is a minor problem right now as I was able to access the ftp site in the past, and the only thing that has changed is I have changed my password a while ago from 10 to 15 characters.

FWIW, I successfully accessed the ftp site a few minutes ago and was able to do everything I should be able to.

Still unable to access FTP: "530: Login incorrect"

1 edit | I'm using the same capitalization/number combination I use for the site password, and the same for my username.
I just tried logging in twice unsuccesfully... I'm not sure how quickly things are updated, but I will change my password later, then try again.

kudos:7 | Ah I see the problem. Your password is only 12 characters. I have no clue how you think you entered 15 because the field length for picking a new password is limited to 12 max. |

| Ok, I didn't notice that the field had any kind of limit as it was just filled with stars, so it only picked up the first 12, and when I typed in the full password it obviously didn't match. Ok, I'm off to change the password, and I will look, however I didn't see that there was a limitation listed on the page where you change your password.

I can't find anywhere on this site that there is a character limit on your password than other than possibly watching how many characters are accepted into the box if your font size allows. |
