**Network Outage Posts ONLY please!!** Part 2

Due to pagination issues, the first thread will be closed. For reference it is here: »**Network Outage Posts ONLY please!!**

This thread is intended for posts of confirmed outages only. Please do not post here about extraneous issues, so we can keep it as useful information about true outages affecting more than one individual. Once a confirmed outage has been posted, please don't reply to simply say, "Me, too."

For purposes of this thread, this is the definition of confirmed outage:

1. It is a complete loss of connection.
2. The post contains supporting evidence from Comcast (website, recorded message received when calling support number), local provider, phone or field technician, or five or more other people in the area who are also experiencing the outage.

Unless you can provide factual information to indicate it is a true outage affecting a number of customers, please do not post in this thread. Rather, start a new thread providing as much information as you can so members can assist you. See this FAQ entry for information on how to provide a useful post.

Philadelphia PA 12J node..... no connectivity since Wednesday (today is friday). UBR was replaced at the node, still nothing. Truck roll was issued, so hopefully it gets resolved soon.

Pissing me off actually.

SNR is erratic jumping to like -120 at times.

Down twice . . . both yesterday & today. Both times HSI went down at approximately the same time of day. I've gotta' compliment Comcast on the service . . . they had a truck to me within an hour, but the tech confirmed a general outage in my area about an hour after he arrived, upon hearing additional trouble calls on his radio and calling his office. It was down about three hours. Apparently it was a fairly large area-wide outage since the tech told me it was a far away as another town named Mardela, about 30 miles. He told me to ALWAYS call, no matter if it was in the middle of the night. Today, once it was down, I went shopping, so I don't know when it came back up.

Both times I had solid power, receive and send lights but a flashing online and activity light.

Tijeras, NM - Intermittent connectivity for the past four days. Comcast claimed it was just me. Line tech just called my cell and informed me half a dozen or so of my neighbors have called in with the same complaint so they bumped the priority.

Had a 3+ hour outage here in Alpharetta, GA. Confirmed by calling 404.COMCAST and waiting for 20 minutes for CSR. Other affected areas included NE Atlanta, Chamblee, and Tucker, GA. Took out Comcast HSI and television all in one fail swoop. No explanatation as to cause of outage, although my speeds (old ATTBI network) have been cut by 50% to around 1500/256 service.

Having touble in Mounds View, Minnesota right now. Going to »192.168.100.1/signal.html for my modem status, I see the Power Level is 18 dB when it should be between -15 dB to +15 dB so my max speed right now is about 150kb/sec instead of 515kb/sec. Pings seem fine, but loading websites and overall bandwidth is very slow today.

I'm in Columbia, MD also. Based on my modem logs it appears there was a major DHCP server outage. I kept getting "DHCP failed - discover sent, no offer received" errors. I called the local Comcast number at noon and a recording noted that the outage involved "Baltimore and Howard county customers." After my modem got stuck in an endless series of reboots I just unplugged it. Discovered all was back up when I got back home at 6:45.

Outage Jan 3-4, 2005 from 11:05 pm EST to approximately 1:30 am in NE Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks, and Delaware counties. 800-COMCAST also down during outage and would not forward calls, resulting in a "We cannot connect your call. Call Comcast at a later time" message. Calling the local branch office number worked and resulted in a prerecorded message stating that engineers were aware of an area wide outage in the counties listed above and that they were working on the problem.
