| Symantec has been buying other software companies since the start. Their last big bite before this was Powerquest. They probably thought it was cheaper to buy Powerquest rather than upgrade Ghost 2003 to compete with the likes of Acronis True Image. That is why Ghost 9 is the Powerquest product re badged. |

I heard Symantec had purchased Veritas, but my guess is that it'll be offered as a standalone product and not part of NIS. |

Sheeesh! I get soooo tired of Symantec bashing! Granted they're big, granted they're successful and yes, I'll be the first to admit that their software doesn't do well with everyone, but man, give it a rest!
Take that big old Symantec bashing bat and knock over your Christmas tree if it'll make you feel better! 
From those of us who use Symantec apps and are happy with 'em: have a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful and blessed New Year! (That's really a heartfelt sentiment, folks! I realize not everyone likes every product. I just get tired of hearing so many people saying that Symantec products are the cyber version of the Anti-Christ!) |
