Geez, you would think they'd see it on their machines. You and I, I'm sure, have 2 completely different machines and different video adapters/monitors and we both see it. I think I'll just reinstall MMJB 9. I don't see any reason why "mim.exe" (whatever it is) should run at startup anyway and in the process deny you complete access to any additional hard drives you may have on your system. -- "I could be wrong, now... but I don't think so! - Adrian Monk |

Hello Mike,
I apologize for the difficulty you are experiencing using Musicmatch Jukebox.
Mimboot.exe is a startup application for our server [mim.exe]. When a computer is rebooted, mimboot initializes mim so that it can run in the background. Mim is responsible for watching all of the music on your computer that is also in your jukebox library, as well as any folders added to the watchfolders. When music on your system is moved, renamed, or deleted, it gets updated in the jukebox library and the next time that you launch the program - your music will be up-to-date.
It appears that the white pixel you are referring to may be a small section of a hidden window that is running to allow mim.exe to perform the tasks required to keep your music library up to date.
Sincerely, Shannon Musicmatch® Technical Support |

| reply to howie Cool, thanks for the info! That's probably why it prevents formatting drives in Windows... it (mim.exe) has access to and monitors all your drives for any changes you've made to your music collection. It would be nice if you could disable it completely in Musicmatch itself, though. It's no big deal, really as I can just end the process if I need to format a drive. -- "I could be wrong, now... but I don't think so! - Adrian Monk |

And thats what I told them. I mean no other software I run makes a white dot on the screen. But at least they will try to fix it. |

All I asked was what mim.exe was and why it runs at startup. You've already answered that for me... -- "I could be wrong, now... but I don't think so! - Adrian Monk |

| reply to howie I'm using MMJB 10 and I use Norton Internet Security. While I'm ripping CDs to my HD MIM.exe tries to access the Internet, and keeps trying. The good news is, you can block it and your system will continue ripping. You have to wonder though, what info is it sending to MMJB??? |

| Yes, that's it... I found it more of a curiosity than an issue but I find the inclusion of "mim.exe", which runs at startup and is the cause of the "white dot" to be something I'd rather not have running all the time. I've even had a few issues with it at shutdown and it's popped up an error message 2 or 3 times. I decided to go back to version 9 until they get the kinks worked out of this new version. |
