well i am not sure exactly what you mean that you but for wireless distance use 802.11 G longer distance of 2.4GHz and i am sure you can add Booster devices to extend? Have access to your network from 3 blocks away from you house or set up a wireless network from 3 blocks away from your house at a restaurant to access it at home?
