|  [Firmware] Linksys NR041 Router
I was trying to play on xbox live with 2 xboxes and 2 accounts on my same internet connection, everything worked ok but when I signed on and then my friend signed on (in a different room) he couldn't do anything like join a game or send messages and then it kicked him off. I was talking to some other players and they said I need to update my firmware. Does anybody know where I could get firmware for the NR041 and how to update it?
any help would be appreciated.:( |

you get what you pay for. i paid about $9 for my NR041 brand new from a computer store. it has the most basic of features. i use it as a swtich. if you need something better, get a real router and pay around $70-100 for a WRT54G. |

yes WRT54G V2 is good for a while then they just stop working after a couble of months had 2 do the same thing and never added any kind of 3rd party firmware.just find that strange. |

I tried that a long time ago...depends on what connection you have I think, if you have dsl or cable I doubt you can handle 2 hungry xbox's on the same internet line. Don't quote me on that though. |

Wierd...I just set up two xboxs today and it works perfectly fine on HALO 2. It is lag free on both xboxs even if we are both playing separate 16 player games. It is awesome. And i didnt have to download any firmware. |

| I had that router and the firmeare update did have something to do with making it Xbox Live compatable.
Go to xbox.com and look at the Xbox Live compatable routers the NRo41 is not listed as compatable.
The Linksys BEFSR41 is listed at that sit, wonder about the BEFSX41; anywayz go to thier site and check it out.

I have this router and it works fine i never had trouble with it i never even updated the firmware. But I have that idea if it ant broke don't fix it. I don't update stuff if it is doing what i need it to do. And I had it over 2 years and works fine. |
