| Bellsouth wireless problem
I have a had a problem with both a Microsoft and a Dell wireless router and Bellsouth DSL. Bascially the microsoft router worked untill either the power was cut off or there was a loss of service or it was unplugged. Then it would not work at all for connecting to the Internet. I could browse files on my other computer, but neither computer would communicate with the Internet. The only way to fix it was to totally uninstall the router software and start over. Microsoft told me it was a problem with the compatabilty of the PPPOE protocols that Bellsouth and Microsoft used. I have the Westell modem. I would like to get a Linksys wireless router since the Linksys wired router I have has been so good. Anyone else had wireless problems with Bellsouth and do you know a fix? I an using Windows XP. Thanks!!! |

| Never heard of any problems.
Do you have the router set to automatically reconnect incase the line disconnects?
I've setup multiple clients/friends with Linksys and none of them have any problems. I, myself, use a linksys and it's been up for months (since I got DSL). -- They cannot destroy our society, they cannot destroy our believe in the democratic way. You do NOT need either of those software packages/programs on the PC to setup and use a MS router with BS Westell modem or the BS software to have the modem connect to your DSL line. Pleas look at the BS FAQ's for the correct way to setup a Westell modem with ANY router. -- Shooter Ready--Stand By BEEP ******** |

I suppose it's possible you were forgotten about until now. The only suggestion I have is to update the firmware to the latest on both devices and try that.
If that doesn't work I have been pleased with both Linksys and Netgear. |
