| Installer problem
Just got my DSL package today. Ran the installer CD, and at the point where it said something like "configuring your network card", the installer asked me to reboot, which I did. After restarting, my network card (Realtek RTL8139) was not active, and it shows up in device manager with an exclamation mark on it, with the Device status error "This device cannot start. (Code 10)".
I've tried uninstalling this card and re-installing it with the most recent drivers from the Realtek web site, and changing the PCI slot the card resides it, with no change in status.
I am reasonably certain that the Telus installer did something to my card, as it has worked flawlessly for almost three years now, up until the point that the installer tried to configure it. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this? I'd like to get my NIC card working so that I can stop using this 10base-T card. |
