Re: All Talk and no Action.. except for Verizon.

1.) Email me your address in that San Antonio (home of Eddie) suburb of yours and I'll let you know if in fact you will have less than adequate service with your VoIP or if you can get DSL.

2.) Yes, out of 175,000 of us, where 170,000 or so choose to invest more than the required amount into SBC shares in their 401k, I am willing to go out on a limb and say the fact is, we probably respect him more than the average Southwest Airlines employee respects their fearless leader. And, he doesn't smoke.

Ever hear the joke, "what's the two most feared words in the telecom industry?

Sigh, you know.... we would all win if the Power Companies would pull their heads out of their arses and realize that with some of the new research being done, 1 gig transfer rates with placing boosters 1 mile apart on power lines, that they are in the greatest position to become one of the biggest monopolies ever, wait, nevermind they already are. Seriously, wait for wireless. It is most of our's only option. 3G? 4G? Who knows but If I were a bell I would be scared crapless by some of these emerging technologies and their implications if I spent $200.00 to $1500.00 a household.

If you ask a rep at sbc about it, they have no clue about who ceo ed whitacre is, or what the extendaline service is.
People at SBC have no clue who Whitacre is? Statements like that blow your credibility.

this Information comes from the same Ceo that said sbc dsl had 100% coverage in all area through the use of repeater in his program called extendaline. Guess what, 1.It doesn't cover My area. 2. If you ask a rep at sbc about it, they have no clue about who ceo ed whitacre is, or what the extendaline service is. In fact, I had a rep transfer me to the technicain in the field, who said, there was no such thing. Sounds like sbc is trying to get stock prices up, and keep the Goverment, who gave them a limited time to get deployment out, off there back.

There go the ISPs

So - now free from the requirement to act as a common carrier and allow all ISPs to purchase wholesale service, the monopolization will begin.

Someday, you'll have two choices - SBC/Yahoo or Comcast. BroadBandReports.com should probably register the domain name SBCComcastReports.com now.

Hey guys, try to come up with something more original than "I'll believe it when I see it". Every time news about the next generation broadband shows up, all you "non-believers" are all over the forum. No future broadband service will be instantly available, so you can quit trolling SBC and other companies. Besides, they are trying to get us more speed for about the same price.
It's all marketing schemes to get people to signup with their service to be "eventually upgraded".

Trying tog et us more speed for about the same price? Thats no moto for the Bells. More like "get more speed for your first child"
Hey, they are giving us more speed for less and less money right now.

My first child is still waiting for her Sprint ION connection. A few more years, and they'll have to hook her up at college...

Tell that to PA where Verizon stole billions of taxpayer dollars in exchange for fiber deployment that never happened.

Why do I have a feeling that SBC and BellSouth can talk the talk but can't walk it? They are all talk and no action. "Fiber here, 22mbps there".. yea? I'll believe it when I AM ON IT. Until then, I don't care what they annoce at any "shows" or conventions.
