VOIP w/Dell 2350 Wireless router

I've had packet8 voip service for about 3 months. Great service.
I had been using my Netgear MR814V2. Lately I kept noticing speed issues with my connection. Tests from here would hardly ever be past 1MB. I also have one of the netgear's on my business class connection (as a backup) at work. IT also had speed issues.
Soo....
I replaced my router at home with a Dell 2350 4 port wireless G router. (got it with a system)
All of a sudden my VOIP doesn't work. Automatically thinking it was the router, I check the port blocking and firewall settings. Nothing that should affect it.
Read up on Packet 8's site and looked for any info on firewall's and ports. They only mentioned outbound connection ports on UDP in the 6000 range I believe. Typically on any firewall, ALL outbound ports are open.

The packet 8 tech assured me there was an issue on thier side and it would be resolved in a day. So, stupid me, I waited a day. Still no phone, so I swapped routers back out. VOIP services restored.

Now I guess I'll go back into the Dell's settings and look for anyting regarding opening these ports. The only option I saw so far was to assign a DMZ address, but I don't think I want the DTA being right on the internet do I? All I really want are the VOIP ports open, yes?

You should not have to use DMZ, but simply forward any necessary ports indicated by your VoIP service. It also helps if the router has VoIP/SIP algorithms in the firmware which helps negate the need to open ports.
