Re: ADSL in Spain

Hey Toro!

What infomation repository are you using to determine broadband availability in Spain? I would like to know my options before I move. For example Cadaques in the Costa Brava or other cities.

Thanks, nice to see support for Spain on this board!

Re: ADSL in Spain

Sorry Broadband in Cadaques sucks, no options there. If I were u I'd choose another place. Only in cities of more than 35k of people u will find good options in Broadband

Re: ADSL in Spain

Hi Toro
Seems like you know a lot about ADSL in Spain.
Since I am planning to move to Madrid I have a few questions about broadband there.

A few questions:
which of the providers above are available in Madrid?
how long will it generally take to deliver the connection after the order?
which provider(s) has/have the best reputation?
and finally:
is broadband via cable available in Madrid?

Thank you very much for your time
Vincent.

Re: ADSL in Spain

let me tell u there are a lot of options in MAdrid. YOu can choose ADSL, naked DSL , Cable, and PLC (BPL in the USA). Most of them u would be under contract, if u are gonna be around 18 or 19 months I would to servidores.com free landline data it means the line is only to voice,
so 39€+tax 1200/200 it will be upgrade to 2400/400kbps ( not sure to thje upload) VOIP will be available soon for no extra money, no limits call in SPain and 0.03€ calls to Europe pr the USA. the worst part is you would be under contract for 18 months.
Jazztel 1Mb/300kbps 39€+tax+telefonica's landline (13 or 14€ extra. I'm not sure if there contract even if ur are using your own modem/router

PLC is available in 50% of MAdrid city 1Mb/1Mb fot 39€+tax no contract and they borrow u the PLC modem.

Cable Auna. if u only want internet 600/300kbps for 39€ or 1Mb/300 for 45€ i think there's not contract. Better offers with TV and phone but u would be under contract during 18 months 1€/month rent cable modem

I think the SPanish ADSL works with PPPE I'm not sore.

Re: ADSL in Spain

Any ideas on Satellite options - 2 way.

I will be living in Salinas, about 30 minutes inland from Alicante with no landline.

Thanks.

Hi, excellent thread of information. I will be moving on a part time basis to Torrequebrada which is in Benalmadena on the Costa Del Sol. I will be there 4 times per year for 4 weeks each time. I am looking for a broadband solution that will be cost effective for this type of use. I was told that Spantel have an offering for 10 EUR per month with a usage charge of .03 cent per minute but with a maximum monthly charge of 42.95 EUR. This is 512/128 speed. You must subscribe to the Spantel telephone service but there is no cost for this and the calls are much cheaper than Telefonica 3.9 cent per min to Uk and US.
Do you know anything about this service.?

Hi

I hope you can help.

I'm going to Orihuela de Costa for a few months.

I would like to know how much broadband access is and who the providers are, and if possible how long it takes to set up. I'm from the UK, I have a belkin wireless router, do you know if I could use that there too?
Ideally I don't want to enter a contract as I will be coming and going between Orihuela costa and uk.

Any suggestions most welcome,

kind regards
Sunni

Re: ADSL in Spain

Hi!

Only a thing for TheToro. If you only have cover with Telefónica you always will can get cheaper ADSL with other rented lines from every ISP.

IE.
If you have cover with Ya.com (»acceso.ya.com/)you can get 1Mb+Calls (2Mb+Calls this summer), 32.95eur;+TAX(16%),1Mb (2Mb this summer) 29.95+TAX,2Mb (4Mb this summer) 38.95eur+TAX ... but if not, you can get (with the same ISP) 512Kb+Calls (1Mb+Calls this summer) for 35.95+TAX, 1Mb+Calls (2Mb) 59.95, 512Kb (1Mb) 34.95, 1Mb (2Mb) 54.95 ...
All the offers with free Wireless Router with 4 ethernet ports. 35eur; more in the first bill and 25eur more in the last (i'm not sure in this). Router Kit in 15 days.

This is with all providers, if you dont have direct cover, they always will offer you a better price than Telefónica (using Telefónica's networks).

Cheers and sorry for my bad English
