With the suspension of all Amtrak Pacific Surfliner service north and south of Los Angeles due to track damage caused by the recent heavy rains, you may feel you have no options for train travel. Metrolink would like to remind Amtrak Pacific Surfliner service ticket holders that you can ride any Metrolink train within the trip limits of your ticket using our Rail 2 Rail program. Regular Amtrak Pacific Surfliner service will resume Saturday January 15. All regularly scheduled Amtrak trains will operate between Los Angeles and San Diego on January 17.
Metrolink would like to remind Amtrak Pacific Surfliner service ticket holders that you can ride any Metrolink train within the trip limits of your ticket using our Rail 2 Rail program. All you need to do is board a Metrolink train and show your valid Amtrak ticket to the ticket inspector upon request.
Pacific Surfliner service north of Los Angeles remains temporarily suspended.

"Amtrak Pacific Surfliner Service restored, Los Angeles-San Diego only; coastline route north of Los Angeles remains suspended
Pacific Surfliner Service San Diego-Los Angeles-Santa Barbara/Goleta, Calif.
Pacific Surfliner Service between Los Angeles and San Diego has been fully restored and trains are operating on a normal schedule. Service had been temporarily suspended last week as a result of track damage caused by recent winter storms.
Pacific Surfliner Service north of Los Angeles remains temporarily suspended pending completion of track repairs by the Union Pacific Railroad. The service is not expected to resume prior to Tuesday, Jan. 26. Amtrak will advise customers when normal Pacific Surfliner Service is restored north of Los Angeles.
The track damage does not affect San Joaquin Service between Los Angeles, the Bay Area and Sacramento."
