| ObjectDock 1.1 released!
I know it doesn't seem to be a big favorite for those worried about "system resources", but I love this program. A new version is now out! For those that don't know what it does, it allows you to have a nice animated launchbar/taskbar on your screen that reacts to your mouse when you mouse over it. (See screenshot)
New in ObjectDock / ObjectDock Plus 1.1:
* Zooming tabbed docks (icons in tabbed docks can now zoom).
* You can now always resize tabbed docks from corners
* Can now run on limited user accounts
* Supports WinKey+D now (show desktop no longer hides ObjectDock if it's set to always on bottom or top)
* Unicode support
* Multiple language support (see files in \lang directory)
* Standard docks adjust themselves properly on screen resolution change.
* Auto-hide sensitivity options added for standard docks
* Folder menu items with &'s in them now supported
* Many other minor tweaks

jeffandlina, what is that weather program you're using? |

| said by anthrorules :okay, how does that have to do with ObjectDock being released, which btw, does not consume much memory and cpu? Your right, ObjectDock does not consume much memory, or CPU. I only mentioned it in my original post because others claim that is why they won't try OD. I really did not intend on this thread becoming a big bashing match between those using OD, and others who use XP's built in quick launch or something else. I was simply starting a thread to make other ObjectDock users aware that there is an update. If others use another method for the same thing OD does, good for you! I personally could care less how much memory something uses. I have a gig of RAM, and when that is used up, I have two more slots available on my motherboard.

I know. I was just wanting to nip any conflict that may start in the bud! This is simply an informative thread that there is an OD update available.

| reply to Keizer Thanks Keizer, im going to give it a shot. I currently use YZ dock - very similar i think to stardock, but YZ's efforts were stopped short when Apple sued him over the mimicing of their dock. I wonder why stardock is still around, perhaps they sued back? -- ||This aggression will not stand.|| quotegame || |

I will be installing over the top this evening when I run the update. There was a bit of work invested to set this up, so un-installing first is not an option for me. I need to preserve my original settings. I did chat with another friend of mine who installed over the top with no problems. I would suggest shutting OD down first.

| reply to Keizer OT: Resources
said by Keizer :I know it doesn't seem to be a big favorite for those worried about "system resources If using some system "resources" has no noticeable effect on performance and you're not getting any "low on memory" messages, I still can't see why some people get so fussy about this "resource" deal... I didn't buy a ton of memory to see it sitting there not being used. It's like letting your car sit in the garage because you don't want to use any gas... I am using "The Weather Channel" It works good for Ontario, Canada...I also use ForcastFox (see pic) which also has temperature in C.
I used onject dock before and did find it to be a drain on the system resources...that was a while back on my old desktop, a P2 266MHz. My Laptop is a 700MHz P3..think this program will give me issues? - my point of a simple desktop was to conserve memory and speed. -- "640K ought to be enough for anybody." | reply to Keizer I really like the new mouse activation delay feature. There were times when my dock would popup because my mouse skimmed across the dock area. Adding a slight delay will minimize un-wanted dock appearances.

[EDIT] I've got to resize the giant icons, though... I just installed it. It's really easy to add programs, too! |
