 | Speedstream 5400 sudden death! I just got today a SS 5400 brand new. While i changes the host on the config page of the router initial to 192.168.0.x value the router accepted the range... due to an alternation on the config of the network i had to set back the value to the Siemens default 192.168.254.254. During router reboot the page stack on 1 sec remaining on the countdown. Since then its impossible to access the administration page of the router. I guess that something bad happened and forces me to deal with Greek ISP and Telecom company... so you can imagine what i am going to hear from these guys.. If anyone knows a way to reset the router in to its initial or a hint to find out the internal ip of the router, i would be grateful. 75 euros a month for a dynamic adsl connection in Greece with speeds of 384/128 What else can i say? please help! |

 | i forgot to mention that i have reset the modem plenty of times but still no luck... I reckon the only explanation to this problem is that something happened on the last reboot of the router since the countdown stuck and prolly the modem kept its own unique ip address... I emailed efficient but i don't think any other solution other than replacement.. Is there a tool to detect the routers ip address??? Thanx for your time posting back... |

There is a exact amount of time to do it within and the LEDs change when it's done right. However, the reset is ignored with no changes if the button is held too long. Did you read the User Guide for the proper reset steps?
