Re: WG121 causes Win XP to freeze heres how i fixed mine.... it drove me nuts freezing all the time...
first thing i did was uninstall all the drivers.. tale out the wg121 from the usb, then i got drivers 1.1for the wg121 and loaded them up, then i connected my wg121 into the usb and loaded its drivers, you cant connect yet for some reason, so now i go to the 2.0 drivers and start the loading, when it asks to uninstall or repair i click the repair.... mine hasnt froze yet in about 10 hours, its never lasted this long..
i'm using a pentium 4 2.8, 512 ram, windows xp, sp2...
hope this works for the rest of you, cause i was gonna throw my hole pc out the window...

Did you try updating to the latest driver for the adapter available here:
»kbserver.netgear.com/support_det···ldID=603
Also check for any programs that may be eating up too much memory from task manager

Is there anything that says its a netgear product that is crashing your pc?
Sounds like you may have a heat issue?
are there any loud fan noises coming from your pc?
does your computer still crash if you take out the wireless adapter? |

 | yes , mine only stops freezing when i uninstall the drivers for the netgear.... |

 | Guys, give this driver a try.

It's the latest Linksys driver for the same Intersil Prism GT chipset as found in the WG121. It may fix the problem. I've also found the very latest Intersil Prism drivers but I'm not sure whether these will work with the GT variant, let alone in a USB implementation. If you're desperate give them a go:
