1 edit | [Vonage] Compatible VoIPs and Home Security (Alarm Ok, I have read numerous posts regarding the use of VoIP and Home Security Systems.
I've had Vonage for over a year now (behind router), and will be moving into a house soon that has a security system installed, but it is not being monitored.
I would love to continue living with out a POTS line and use Vonage with the security system.
If any of you here are using VoIP and a monitored alarm system, I would love to hear about it- Such as what companies currently support VoIP and don't shun us like ADT.
And before anyone jumps down my throat, I have also read the threads suggesting that it is inherently unsafe and stupid to use a Monitored Alarm System with VoIP......and that I should just use a POTS line to be safe.
Knowing this, I would still like to hear of other VoIP users and their experiences with Monitored Home Security (Alarm) Systems.
