| Access point ?
If I put a 6dbi antenna on my wrt54g how far away could I put an access point from it and still get a good signal and would that be a good thing to do if I was needing to reach a pretty good distance. |

| The 6dbi antenna I have is a directional and I was needing to go about an 8th of a mile and the line of sight is clear. So you are saying it would work with that configuration? Because I need to get the signal out of one house and in to another but then the access point would transmit the signal through the other house, correct? Thanks for your help. |

| Thanks for the help I will try that and see if it works. How long can the cable be on a 6dbi antenna also, can I add to the cable and move the antenna farther away from my router. |

| reply to rerec the thinner the cable the shorter the distance you can take it without getting alot of signal loss.
if you use a good quality cable you can go a long ways.
most people use good cable along with a pigtail to adapt the connectors.
btw, don't think that nobody notices that this is your third post on the same topic, where your last one was locked. |
