I had that router and the firmeare update did have something to do with making it Xbox Live compatable.

Go to xbox.com and look at the Xbox Live compatable routers the NRo41 is not listed as compatable.
The Linksys BEFSR41 is listed at that sit, wonder about the BEFSX41; anywayz go to thier site and check it out.
