Yes, I would agree with you. However, when there happen to many ppl pose as TMNet officer (there were another guy claiming to be CSO just a week earlier) I tend to be skeptical. Anyway, your statement about there is no 1Mbps package offered didn't help either.

I would not pass judgement to you on your product knowledge or to blame TMNet for not informing you guys. But to tell the truth, I guess most of us in SEABBR would know what is going on with TMNet/Streamyx much earlier than you guys at CSO if what you're saying is true...

Imagine the 'news' of free upgrade has been circulating around since September 2004 and yet to miss to receive the info when its already February 2005??

Whatever it is, let me welcome you here in SEABBR be it you're working with TMNet or not.

And just a pointer for you... you might want to read this »ISP INDEX MANAGEMENT (especially on no 4) and pass this to the relevant person there...

The fact told by lambadipull is true. By default, all new applications are configured at 512/256. If you didnt get 1MB after you have got your streamyx, u should call them and inform them on this occasion.

If you got 1MB straight when you activated your account, you are considered lucky as they have configured the right speed for you during jumpering process.

Like previously when there were only 512/128 and 384/128, 384/128 was configured by default for all application. That why at that time, most of the users just got 384/128. They need to call and tell them baru they will reconfigure again.

For those who doesn't know, they pay extra RM22 but at the same speed with RM66 package.

Anyone knows how to check the connection i get from streamyx? My modem is Hyundai Hase-220.
typing 192.168.1.1 cannot shows anything about my connection setup!

I have to agree with xeqtor. i know there are people who are taking advantage by posing as someone from Telekom/TMNet but as to what these liars are trying to achieve i have no idea.

however if the situation being described, i'd have to say that i'm not at all surprised by the mismanagement found in that organization. old habits do die hard

lambadipull See Profile, I dont want to verify your claim of occupation, but I emphatize with your situation.

When TMNet advertizes it's 1Mbps Streamyx plan and subscribers opted for it and paid for it, they have to be given that cap speed within a reasonable time frame. How, is not their concern. If Streamyx cannot deliver this, they should suspend acceptance for new subscribers. Know that this is a Service Agreement, a legal instrument. If 1Mbps subscribers are only given 512kbps, rebates will have to be given until the 1Mbps becomes available. This translates as 'revenue loss'. If Telekom wants to avoid further 'loss', it then has to buck up. I think this is how the capitalist world works, unless Telekom thinks we're in Cuba or N. Korea.

Hi! sorry for late reply.

I know what ur thinking but thats the fact. They have been issuing information to the crowd which is not accurate.

I have the access to the back office and I'm telling what I see in the system. I know I dont like what I see but thats whats happening. We r always the last person to get the info.

Sometime I see the package is written as 1 mbps sometimes as 512kbps for the same RM 88 package.
The problem is the person who is doing this reports at the Telekom also dont know what to say.
They always call us up to ask us what to do and how to do their job.

What u want me to say?:(

I don't work in Telekom but I know by fact that RM88 package is NOT 512kbps..

it is even stated in Telekom Website.... Anyway, have you got your product knowledge correct?

This above is not so true. I register my Streamyx early Dec last year, and I signed up for 1Mbps, not 512kbps. To say that 88 package is still 512kbps is not correct. This only applies to the existing subcriber, not new applications. Took me 2 days arguing and pressuring TMnet about this issue.

You guys at streamyx helpline really should get some proper training and product knowlegde ASAP.

Hi! I am a new member. Juz signed up.

For info I am working at Streamyx help line, 9515, but please DONT ask about it.
What I can tell u is only this. The upgrading of 512 to 1Mbps was meant to end by Dec 04 but due to a lot of new application, the upgrading was delayed as the contractors employed by Telekom needed to do the new installation for new subscribers.

This caused a lot of upgrading went hay wire. Nobody could tell who was upgraded and who wasnt. Even those who r working here unable to tell anything for sure. Our new date line is now end of March 05. Our Telekom people were not properly informed on anything causing a lot of the subscriber were sent around creating dissatisfaction.

As this is not enough the resellers are simply saying that the buyers r given 1Mbps when they apply when infact they r given only 512, create more and more angry subscribers.

In the midst of this havoc the boss (luckily we are not directly employed by Telekom) came with the bright idea of upgrading the 384 to 512kbps.

Imagine that, those who r having the speed of 512, some pay RM66 and some RM88. Who the hell wont scream.

Guyz if uany one of u call us pls understand our situation.:(

lodge a complain

say that you have slow connection....

they will then ask you to give 3 results to the speedtest..

call back in 3 days time if its not upgraded to 1024/384

and I found this

256 Kbps Fast 512 Kbps Fast

Is that mean my modem was capped to 512/256?
but this modem suppose support up to 8mbps for downstream and 1mbps upstream.

If this is the problem.How can I change it to 1mbps/384kbps?
