The pings you see for these servers are not what i actually get. i get about 20 ms higher to all of them cause of All Seeing Eyes pinger service

No, FiOS has its own backbone, totally separate from the VOL DSL backbone...Completely new network.

I am in tampa as well and have FiOS. If you want me to check out the pings on some sites let me know which ones. I will do some trace routes for you too if you wish. This is one I did to this site....

The equipment in the CO is definitely new as is the fiber is new to your house. post a trace route to an ip (with time) and I'll follow-up with what I get from an install this week. We have to use the same IP so post what your going to use

Was hopping Fttp or a few other verizon boys or girls can answer this question.
Is fios gonna be using the same backbone as they are currently using for dsl out of Tampa?
If so its gonna suck just as bad as the dsl does for gaming.
Get 60 pings and it has a funky lag to it like your pinging 150. Tried all the settings I could with my system and with games and its no use VZ dsl just sux for gaming.
Im praying they have a smooth route out of Florida with this service for once.
Heard rumor on some post that they are supposed to build a new backbone to each major hub city for Fios. Is this true?
