You may only submit 10 reports in a 24-hour period

Does it always do this, if you try to report more than 10 people? Or did someone get mad at me and take my privileges away?

Thanks guys.

i think this was done to stop people from reporting every post by people that they do not like. it cuts down on the kiddie wars.

If something is really offensive in a popular forum like the watercooler, chances are we're getting several reports on it already

The limit prevents people who get mad at mods from flooding us with reports.. it's happened a few times.

It also slows down members who are angry at another particular member, and Hey Mod all that member's posts.

Sounds like a reasonable limit

I'm glad I didn't make a mod mad, thus them taking away my "Hey Mods" privileges

Thanks for your responses.

Gee, you mean users actually report ten a day?!! I haven't reported 10 in an entire year. I almost never use that button. Maybe that is because I don't read the silly entertainment forums and I don't believe in solving differences between a particular member and myself should be handled by reporting them. I use that button only for extreme flaming (not ordinary flaming) and when someone posts a warez site or live virus site.

I use it fairly often... mainly to get a mod's attention to move a thread to a more appropriate forum. I do also flag personal attacks... but as far as policing anyone... I try to let the forum hosts handle that one on their own.
