said by Aleck79 :I can just see it now, no more jokes about the crying baby on the airline, its going to be the asshole on the cell phone :x Is someone talking on their phone any different than that person talking to the person next to them? I have resolved that if the person next to me has the right to talk into a phone, loudly and past the point of annoyance, then I have the right to talk into a non-phone, loudly and past the point of annoyance. |

Unfortunately, some people seem to assume that if the cellular connection isn't great or there's background noise that SPEAKING LOUDER FIXES THE PROBLEM.
In public places, you can frequently distinguish who's carrying on a cell conversation from others carrying on interpersonal conversation without even seeing them. Many of them basically scream into the phone.
That would get really annoying sitting next to someone on a plane who's trying to look important or is just bored and wanting to yak with their friend/girlfriend/boyfriend/kid/parent/co-worker, etc.
If people actually carried on cellular conversations at reasonable volume, it probably wouldn't be a problem. -- When people are free to do as they please, they usually imitate each other. |

| reply to MikeRaach The someone talking to someone next to themselves has only that person to talk to. With a cellphone, this same annoying person can to to an unlimited amount of people. -- rok - Enjoy this game called life, nobody is actually keeping score. |

easy solution eat some air line food and 10 min later you should be able to fart louder then the person on the phone. It may not shut them up but it will make them move and then they are someone els's problem |

At the supermarket, when the person in front of you is talking about NOTHING and is not paying attention to the cashier...then they want to write a check or need a price check on an item ...I tell them to get off the damn phone & pay attention... 9 times out of 10 they hang up and move on. I have NO PROBLEM letting someone know I do not appreciate their phone conversation when it is infringing on me and my space. Just how important can a call be? You do have voice mail and an earphone, right? |
