| Re: great, cell phones replacing the crying baby Unfortunately, some people seem to assume that if the cellular connection isn't great or there's background noise that SPEAKING LOUDER FIXES THE PROBLEM.
In public places, you can frequently distinguish who's carrying on a cell conversation from others carrying on interpersonal conversation without even seeing them. Many of them basically scream into the phone.
That would get really annoying sitting next to someone on a plane who's trying to look important or is just bored and wanting to yak with their friend/girlfriend/boyfriend/kid/parent/co-worker, etc.
If people actually carried on cellular conversations at reasonable volume, it probably wouldn't be a problem.
