»pages.infinit.net/flogator/ Connecting two SX41's is basically the same as the Sentinel-SX41 connection.

Re: VPN, BEFSX41 to BESFX41......how do i set them

I dont have a static IP so how do i set it up without a static IP? I do have a DNS that I set up thru DynDNS. If im to use that dns where do i put it etc. do i put it in both PC's or just one? do I need another one, one for each PC? and please, speak english in laymans terms. for instance, I have been told of a "private/Public IP" and yet no where in my router or a caomand prompt or anywhere else on Gods green earth does it say "private/Public IP" LAN ip? WAN ip? schman IP. explain as if your talking to a 5 year old PLEASE I am getting TOTALLY frustrated and am ready to shoot hte neighbors dog LOL
I even had a friend read the other thread of mine to make sure im not going insane, he was shocked that I hadnt gone totally Psycho.

Re: VPN, BEFSX41 to BESFX41......how do i set them up

I am trying to set up a VPN over the internet at two separate locations. Both locations have Verizon Business DSL (with Static IP addresses).
I have two BEFSX41's. Both routers are connected to DSL modems provided by Verizon and hooked up to WinXP computers.

I followed the instructions at linksys and here.

I am able to connect the VPN but unable to browse the internet.I talked to a lady at Linksys and she had me ping the following :

www.yahoo.com --- unable to connect
the ip address for www.yahoo.com -- got a reply
the dns servers (4.2.2.1, 4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.3) and request timed out for all three

If I disconnect the VPN, I am able to browse the internet, but then I am not connected to the other location.

Here are the settings. Location 1 (router 1) has the following IP Address xx.xx.xx.107. Location 2 (router 2) has the following IP Address xx.xx.xx.120.

Router 1
Local Group :
IP : 192.168.1.0
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0

Remote Group :
IP : 192.168.2.0
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0

Remote Gateway : xx.xx.xx.120
I have encryption and authentication disabled (for now just untill I get everything working).

Router 2

Local Group :
IP : 192.168.2.0
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0

Remote Group :
IP : 192.168.1.0
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0

Remote Gateway : xx.xx.xx.107
I have encryption and authentication disabled (for now just untill I get everything working).

I plan to try it again this week (gonna try it with the older firmware 1.45.7 - am using the newest from linksys 1.50.18). Also gonna try just putting in the DNS addresses for all the computers (only three). And setting them all with static IP addresses and shutting off DHCP on both routers.

Anyway, any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
