| Well at least in my area, dsl starts at $19.99- lower than most dial up big names. I pay $35 for 3.0/400 and if I wanted cable it would be around $60 a month from Insight for 2.5/375ish speeds (my neighbor next door has the insight broadband), so in my opinion, after he has had to use my computer several times a year because his cable went down, while in almost 3 years my dsl has never gone out, I'll stick with the cheaper, faster, more reliable internet connection at least while I live here. |

It all boils down to each area, as it has been said quite a few times.
Here I get 6.0/500 for $45($55 without tv service) from my cable company, the closest SBC package is 1.5-3.0/384-512 for $37 a month with one year contract, which isn't worth it, IMO. Plus, I am then forced to have phone service through them too, which is another $40 or so a month. |
