VPN issues with D-Link DI-524 and VOIP.

I connect to my work's phone system through Nortel Network's Contivity VPN Client i2050 Software Phone. I am using XP Pro SP2. When I connect DSL Modem->ethernet cable->my PC...no Problem. When I put my D-Link DI-524 Router in the middle I have issues. I still use a ethernet cable and my software phone can still ring, but I cannot hear the person on the other end and they cannot hear me.

I have disabled all firewalls on my PC. I updated the firmware on my router. I configured my router according to what D-Link tells me to on this page. »support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?p···20DI-764

Still same problem. I'm hoping someone has some experience with this but I know its a small chance. help?

It sounds like when you are using the router, the Contivity client is still able to connect to the VPN server.

If you take a look at the VPN client while it is active it should state if it is using NAT Traversal feature and which UDP port it is using. If you are not able to find this information you will need to check with your network administrator.

Do you get an IP address from the same IP Pool when using the router or does the Contivity provide you an address from a different range? If it is a different address there could be filters (either on the Contivity or other network hardware) blocking the RTP/UDP packets which the voice is carried over.
