Thanks for the replies. After, calling up BT Yahoo I managed to Thanks for the replies. After, calling up BT Yahoo I managed to ascertain that I needed to use the following setting:
DNS = auto
VPI = 0 (zero)
VCI = 38
Authentication = CHAP
Modulation = G.DMT
Encapsulation = VC MUX
Encapsulation Protocol = PPPoA, whether USB modem or Ethernet router
Not sure where the Authentication and Modulation come into the setting up of the WAG54G (probably handled behind the scenes) but once I’d changed the Encapsulation it seemed to work. Actually, all the settings above are the default for the WAG54G – so it might have been something to do with the email address/password used to log on the BT Yahoo. For others, remember its your.name@**1.btinternet.com (i.e. john.smith@js1.btinternet.com).
