I'll be worried most when Adaware starts installing spyware along with their tool. I'm using adaware, spybot, and MS antispyware at the moment. What I'd like to know is (and i have to run things again to find out myself i guess), does Adaware still catch stuff that spybot and MS antispyware don't? or should i just drop adaware all together. |

This report compared effectiveness of standalone applications and various combinations, since each package seems to catch different stuff than the others. While I've used AdAware and Spybot in combo for a while (and just added MS), the report suggests that Giant AntiSpyware (MS) is the best alone but only catches 63% of the test spyware. The best combo they suggest is Giant AntiSpyware plus Webroot Spy Sweeper (70%) or Ad-Aware SE Personal (69%). Giant + Spybot only caught 67%. Anyway not a huge spread from 67%-70% |
