Yes and No, some of that are good idea's. Like dragging them to small claims court. As far as legal representation, when I went to court against my former employer, nothing I saw denied me the right to untilize a lawyers services.
Also as far as the timing goes, most courts will reschedule if they have to be in court in another district, county, state. You will have court cases lined up between here and eternety. Also if you fail, they can counter file for lost time and wages having to come fight you.
