| [speed/latency] Sudden Verizon Slowdown
This past monday verizon was at its normal speeds for me 27XX, 7XX. Yesterday it dropped to 2400/2500 but upload remained normal. Today speed test: »/speedtests/20···10421910
The download seems to have decreased 700kbps in two days, it has never done this before not even during the busiest hours, my tweak tests are all fine, same results as always. I am in area code 11235 Anyone else having this problem? |

| Have you tried rebooting your modem and router (if you have a router)?...I have had cable and DSl and it seems a periodic reboot helps speeds......especially if you do alot of dowmloading.....on my westell 2200 i do the reboot with the reset button and let it cycle...and then just power cycle my router....try this and let me know if it helps

same here....it was working fine this morning...now its slowing down a bit...sites opening slowing...responding time is slow...i am in the philly area thought...anyone have the same problem around philly? |

Yeah, same here. Been having a slowdown - sometimes way down to only 100k downstream - for the past two days now in Philly. I tried calling tech support, but they can't tell me anything.

Same here, I tried calling tech support but the monkey on the other side kept trying to make it my fault because verizons speedtest shows full speed so I just hungup since it was going nowhere. Probably a router problem somewhere on verizons network. Anyone know where we can report these kinds of problems that doesn't involve an hour wait and endless script reading? |

| Did a power cycle, still no change. The other odd thing is the inconsistency of the results it was alwyas + or - 50kbps, now it is 2300, 2500, 1900. I would hate to have to call the tech support people, i tried using my old westell 2110 wirespeed, same results i put the 327W back in and its the same. The only thing im grateful for is that my connection isnt being throttled like the guy upstairs  |

my speed was 200K [ 1.5mbits ] and now is BARELY 95K. i called verizon, the guy at first said it could be a problem at their end, but then all of the sudden he switched it saying no is a problem at my end, even thou the line test came back fine. this slowdown happened a day or 2 ago.
i can't take this 95KB/s download speed, upload is fine.
i can't wait for FIOS. i wish they would put a ETA on when each state would be FIOS ready. |

| I've been going through this for the past couple of days as well. I live in Southern Maryland. Download speeds down to 100k-300k. I just did a speed test now (8am), and it looks perfect, 1400k download consistently. I called Verizon last night, and they finally agreed to write a trouble ticket.
I had the same exact problem last month (lasted a couple of weeks), that they fixed by moving me to another router. |

Brooklyn, NY | My line speed is 2500 at 4 in he morning, during the day it can vary from the lowest i saw yesterday 1450 to the highest 2300. I got 2500 the first day but it has gone down even further since. |

I am on Long Island. Speed test says I am at full speed. I think they have a DNS issue. Web sites take a long time to resolve. If I call it would be a waste of time, Its always are problem. |
