I know some like to diss it, but I switched from the "definitely slower line" (DSL) to Comcast cable and haven't looked back... and NO contracts. Month to month at my discretion. And Verizon wants $37 a month for the same deal? Why? When you can get double the speed for five bucks a month more? On top of that, I don't even have to pay for a phone line like I did when I had DSL.
Enjoy transfer caps and abuse letters.

You won't know if you're on one of their overloaded nodes or not(read: where people use the internet for things other than email and web browsing) until you get a letter stating you've been abusing the service. By then, I think you'll have already made your decision to get a new ISP.
