[BroadVoice] [BroadVoice] A report about it

I just want to report that the quality of their international calls are great, I can't believe how good it is. It is a great service, works great. In seconds I setup here ( the most difficult was to find a unused socket)

I figured that most complains about the service quality of the VoiceIp companies are related with the INTERNET service, not the VOIP service itself.

The website is great, and you can make the calls on any computer on their website. Just GREAT!!!

No, it's their lack of customer service that receive most complaints.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about signing up. Been hearing good things about them from my coworkers.

Out of curiousity, what device are you using? I might go with the sipura 1001.

I agree, also you need more time to evaluate a service, like a new car it is not enough that it looks great and drive good the 1st week, I had to cancel Broadvoice service within 24 hours mainly because lack of support.

I've been using broadvoice for about 6 months now, mostly good for the $. Main points:
1) Support is spotty at best, although I called on Friday and was almost scared out of my chair when a REAL person with a Massuchusetts accent answered the phone
2) They are SIP based, which means that it works nicely with my asterisk setup
3) They allow multiple simultaneous calls over the same account.
4) I wish I would have skipped the WiSiP (802.11b phone) and just got an ATA of some sort.
5) We also have ATT CallVantage, which has had minute for minute more downtime than BroadVoice.

Last week, I got the Broadvoice BYO plan for $5.95 for 100 minutes just to test them out. I have a free port on my Sipura SPA2000 that I used for it.

They had limited Atlanta area numbers when I signed up. The number I got did not provide audible ring-back to callers and the name caller-id is not working on incoming calls.

Yesterday, more numbers in my area became available and I changed numbers for one in my own part of Atlanta metro. The new number is working correctly with audible ringback to callers.

I've found the voice quality (G.711u) to be just fine. Their voice mail and all the features (except calling name ID) work perfectly. Like most VOIP services, incoming calls and toll-free numbers are free.

I've called tech support a couple of times and gotten through within 5 to 10 minutes. Both times, the person was able to help me without fail. I'm pretty pleased with them at this point, but they need to get calling name ID fixed.
