I thought the deal was to use Tivo software only. I didn't know Tivo would be providing the hardware too. |

Under the terms of the agreement, Comcast and TiVo will work together to develop a version of the TiVo service that will be made available on Comcast's current primary DVR platform. New software will be developed by TiVo and will be incorporated into Comcast's existing network platforms. The new service will be marketed with the TiVo brand, and is expected to be available on Comcast's DVR products in a majority of Comcast markets in mid-to-late 2006. -- My Web Page My Blog Join Red Room Forum |

In other words, Comcast is getting TiVo to develop a version of their software that will run on the Motorola 6208 and 6412 boxes (instead of the sucky software that runs on them now.)

Comcast is phasing the 6208 out pretty quickly and is making the 6412 their std DVR box. -- My Web Page My Blog Join Red Room Forum |

-SC Exactly, that has been the biggest problem with the Comcast DVRs. I have one and due to software issues service has been a bit off sometimes. |
