[Broadvox Direct] No Incoming Calls

Callers to my number receive a recording asking them to enter an "authorization code." As a result, I am not able to receive incoming calls. Outgoing calls are ok. I suspect that this is a provisioning problem. I've opened a ticket.

Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

I believe they are going to voicemail and your outgoing message is not initialized.

You may be onto something. I checked my voicemail and my outgoing message had mysteriously disappeared. I re-recorded it, but the request for an authorization number persists on incoming calls.

So, is there anything I can do to prevent the calls from going to voicemail or to intialize the voicemail? Or, do I just have to wait for BVD's lame support to do something? Moreover, what caused this problem in the first place?

Re: [Broadvox Direct] No Incoming Calls.

If you have an alternate number it can go to in follow-me, that might help. definitely put a ticket in -- I would hope that is an easy fix.

So you can *86 to mail. Set your outgoing, and it is still messed up, but it had accepted you VM password? Strange?

I am assuming you are not on Amanda VM -- if you are, ask to be switched. They do that fairly quick, or did for me.

I didn't notice that my Voice mail is down too. I called home this evening and rang a few times then I hear "System error" then it hangs up. I wonder for how long this has been. Anyway, I submitted a ticket.

Re: [Broadvox Direct] No Incoming Calls.

Oddly, I can dial *86, and get a request to enter a password. When I enter my voicemail password, however, I get a message saying the password isn't recognized. However, if I dial *123, I get a DIFFERENT voice asking for a password, and it's accepted.

The biggest VM problem I have, however, is that all my VM indicators are on, including the stutter tone. Dialing in (via *123) tells me I have no messages, but the damned indicator won't go out. Rebooting the adapter (the new Mediatrix) doesn't help. I put in a trouble ticket Friday night, but BV doesn't seem to be in any hurry to do anything about it.

They should have some way for us to manually turn off the notification.

You are still on Amanda then.

IP unity is much better. Its accessed with *86 which means *VM

I recommend you place a ticket to be switched.

The IP Unity voicemail system crashed on Friday. I opened a ticket and my problem was fixed in under 30 mins.

FYI, ever when you are on IP Unity, you can still dial *123 to dial the Amanda system, however, it does you no good because none of your messages will be there.

Re: [Broadvox Direct] No Incoming Calls

got the quotes a little skewed -- I didn't say that

As I referenced way back »[Broadvox Direct] "System Error" [Fixed] on 3/16
That would be Wednesday.

I am disappointed they never announced the glitch to those who would not read it here. It should have been posted on the portal calendar.

Re: [Broadvox Direct] No Incoming Calls.

jwardl, you're probably already on the new (IP Unity) system. Try going to the portal and entering a new password via MyPhone -> VoiceMail -> Change VM Password. You can re-enter the same one you're using now.

This step should update IP Unity to accept your password. If this works, just forget aout *123 and keep using *86 for you VoiceMail.

I need to go through this to get my v-mail working after being switched over, so reckon you may need to do the same.
