Re: DSL in Egypt

Finally after 1 month and 16 days LINK DOT NET disconnected
me and cancelled my subscription!

once i get my cancellation number, will go to TEDATA and subscribe.

@NomadvEAF

THANK YOU very much about the "performance" review
you gave us about your experience with other companies
such as RAYA/LINK/EGYNET..but there's something i don't understand..

RAYA = 256k review
Egynet = 512k review
LINK = 1024mb review

did you join TEDATA as 2048MB? haha

another thing is that you're right about EGYNET having
$hit support/disconnections ...however about the performance i heard they were one of the worst?

anyway, i'm gonna join TEDATA and will stay with it,
i'm right now using a 56k modem and ANYTHING! Adsl even 256k speeds are better than this pile of $hit.

i have scan this topic long

i will start with myself right after exams & feed u bak

what do u think !

Hameda

@link.net

excellent idea DAHIA!

i actually decided to join NOL, when i called them
they were so gentle and even helped me to find out if
my Cancellation Number was ready at the central, something
Link made me crazy for.

NOL website though is a bit weird and i'm afraid they
might be using LINK or EGYNET as backbone or something,
not their own.

will see.

NOL "Nile On Line" has its unique infrastructure

confirming..
NOL is a standing-alone ISP
it has been classified from the 4 class-A ISP in egypt
EGYNET,TeData,LinkDotNET & NOL

cud u pls supply me with their DSL offers webpage??

RAYA started the DSL Control packages & plans
its for 95LE/month [& up]

it wont work with me cuz i will pay more than the normal dsl plans
more info www.myraya.net
i got an inquiry if the central u r following may affect the service !

meaning.. does the central has any role in affecting [up or down ] the service according to its performnace & maintainenace ?any idea?

Guys, i went to NOL and joined them!!!!!!! :-D

the person (mahmoud omran) gotta be one of the best
people i ever seen, besides NOL answer directly the phone
with no waiting, they're very kind, fast, serious,
and make it easy for us.

i sat down with the guy and he showed me on the PC
how he entered my data into the pc, send to Telecom
and so on, great stuff.

i am sure the service will be awesome, in 10 days
my DSL should be up if all goes well, i will
be replying here!

NOL told me the only other great ADSL company
is also TEDATA.

they told me one day 15 users of Raya came to NOL wanting to
join after cancelling their subscription with RAYA!!!!!!

NOL is awesome.

hey guys i know we all suffering from stupid isps in egypt and actually from everything in egypt.

i am now on RAYA telecom @ home and still with link.net @ work

raya is very gay with me and download rates on 256/64kbps are :

sometimes good 28 kilo byte/s
sometimes funny 4k/s slower than dialup

pings are so shitty .. they told me that the problem is in my phone central station and that they will upgrade their bandwidth there but im sure they are fucking liars as other isps .

@ my work link.net got better after like 100+phone calls and like 10+ fights with them and some good insults

but they still suck as usual ... best download rate is 30k/s on 512/128 kbps advertised speed

ok here is my conclusion :

do same as me tell all your friends to not subscribe with any shitty company ou have tried and screw down their reputation everywhere beleive me this will make them lose lots of money and someday they will know that a good service provider can keep the customers for years and years not for only 1 month

@tedata.net

i cancelled and joined TEDATA from 8 month im getting 100+kb anytime.

Hi,
Is anyone on the Nasr 2 exchange? Which is best, TEDate or Nile Online? Is it nile-online.com? I couldn't find any info about adsl there. I am in the UK and planning to go to egypt and get 256/128 adsl there for 12 months just for VOIP/Video conferencing not any gaming or downloading.
Thanks

so which is better NOL or Tedata or Egynet??

i already having 1mb connection any my speed doesnt excceds 70kb...

ya sater

@217.54.x.x

I'm subscribed on TE.Data since 2003 with speed
of 512/128k and the download is incredible,
i was subscribed with Egynet 512/128 and got constantly
a speed of 27-35kb/s download day, 55kb at night, i cancelled and joined TeData in 2003 and my speed never went below 48kbs
anytime, any hour.

my pings are around 200-300ms all the time.

a friend subscribed to NOL and they blow his telephone
he couldn't call or do anything, then when everything worked
his download SUCKED big time, 10-15kb/s with his 256k/64k
anytime. NOL is bad and more Business than home.

TEDATA is absolutely fantastic, if you want the very best
in egypt, trust me, go with TEDATA.

below zero

@217.54.x.x

TeData is the best because it give you speeds near the
maximum you joined for, 256k = 22-25k , 512k = 45-50kb
and so on.
any other isp sucks big time, tedata is the only isp
that will give you good to great speed and acceptable pings,
besides when you join they check if there are Ports
in the central before installing you, they don't
oversubscribed.

from what i read in all the posts, most people are on Tedata
(me too) and praising it, so Tedata is the ISP to choose!
if you get poor speeds also with Tedata then your problem
is the central and not the ISP. (you must be within 3.5KM from your central to get your advertised speeds.)

@62.135.x.x

  Well friends, I've seen all your comments and unfortunately it is not a good sign for the technology future in Egypt .
I just returned from Canada ( Mississauga Ontario ) , and I used to have an ADSL connection in my place 256/64 , it costs me 19.99 CAD which is about 90 LE and nothing compared to the income, with a fabulous speed ( I do not use technical terms like ping , I just feel the speed ) with no interaption and a prime support ( Bell Canada ) .
Anyway I went to TE data Alexandria branch a week ago after an advertising in a newspaper and they told me that they have a good deal, half price for every speed, I just went and get 900 LE for a year subscription , It took me 1/2 an hour , upon returning they told me that the deal was cancelled, because the TELEcom egypt refused this deal.
Of course I felt down and that somebody there tried to play shit with me. What really surprised me is that I discovered that TE data belongs to TELECOM Egypt!

i own an internet cafe in EL-Helmiya EL-gedeeda called CLICK-NET

you can say its the best cyber net cafe in mid town in cairo and i always insist to have good speds to satisy customers coz they play online games here like c&c zero hour m c&c generals .. and BATTLE FIELD 2

ive tried most of isps in egypt and i guess only 2 isps left : NILE ONLINE & TEDATA

im gonna transfer my home line to TEDATA first to see if its good and then i will transfer my internet cafe line to it too .

expect my feed back soon if im still alive .

@217.54.x.x

tedata is superb, i'm gettin 115kb/s downloads in everything
with my current 1024/256k since 2001.
i used NOL for 2 month and Raya for 3 months hated both,
they're better than Link.net no doubt, anything is better
than LINK, but no one is as good as Tedata,
Telecom = Tedata
so that tell you how good it is.

Dictator

@217.54.x.x

i agree with you guys, TeData has never let me down and the performance is awesome day and night with my current 512k/256k
i'm downloading at 50k.
www.bandwidthplace.com connection test,
tell me my download is 49k and my connection is 403kbps.

you should avoid all the rest of ISP they suck,
only TeData is worth. trust me.

Hi every1,
I have been subscribed to link.net for more then year now and I have to say that link.net really is the worst imaginable ISP ever.
The speeds suck A**, like I have 256/64 and I get 10-15 Kb/s downloads and playing games online has become really impossible since I almost always get kicked out of the game whenever ppl see my ridiculously high pings
the only reason I am sticking with them (for now) is that It has been over 6 month that I am not paying a penny.
I am really fed up though the connection keeps going down about every 15 min.
I am really thinking of switching to Tedata since I ve read so much positive feedback about it on this site.
