Installed Applications Lister?

Can anyone suggest a free tool that will simply generate a list with all the apps I have currently installed? I'm playing with an XP reinstall because it's that time again.. it seems my disk needs a fresh start
I don't mind it either, I can "reinstall" WinXP Pro literally in 5 minutes because I have a TI image of a fresh installation.. so it's no biggie .

Thanks

Belarc will do this.

The old Aida32 program could do this....search this forum for a link.

I suspect its replacement (Lavalys Everest Home Edition) can do the same - »www.lavalys.com/

Thanks guys.. I was thinking of Belarc when I posted this and just wasn't sure if there's anything else out there. Thanks a lot

Yes, both Belarc and Everest will show a list of installed programs.

Everest perhaps a little "prettier", but both will list your Installed Programs. (Which you could of course print out).

For that matter, a scrolling Screen shot of Add/Remove, and a bunch of other Programs will tell you the bulk of what you have installed too.

Personally, I thing you should just do a clean install of XP, throw away any record of what Programs you have installed, and then install your Programs as you realize which ones it is you are missing the most.

LOL... That's exactly how I do it. I do a fresh install and then when I realize what I need is missing, I install it!

You know.. I actually do that too . I'm just saying.. just in case I wonder what the best app was for this and this task.. I'll have a list to look at

You know.. I usually think very much that way.

It's just that I've spent months "researching" what the best software each for various tasks.. and doing that would be kind of stupid. I can still choose what to install and so on.. hehe.. but I'd like to have the list just so I know I have it

I'm also wondering if I should create two partitions on my C: drive this time.. hmmmm.

Fyle, did you image a totally "fresh" install of XP? It fits on one CD and TI restores it in 3 minutes! No need to reactivate, either (assuming you install it on the same PC)...

I have it on my external HD. Yeah, it's totally fresh. I installed WinXP, and right after the first boot.. when everything looks crappy and stupid, (plain Windows hehe), I made the image.. without even installing TI .

Yes, the TI boot CD is one of my favorite tools...
It sure beats the 30-40 minutes it takes to install from the XP setup CD and it's a totally unattended install. Another reason to love TI!

Good point Howie!

Fyle! What ever you do, don't forget to write down TI when you make up your list!

pfffffff.. TI doesn't need to be written down. Some things are obvious. Like Opera, WinRar, TI, Thunderbird, Firefox, ZAP, Trillian, NOD32, Winpatrol, SnagIt, QCD, Total Uninstall, Evernote, MS Office Suite including OneNote, and and and.. so much stuff!

Look at the bright side...If you were dadkins See Profile, just the LIST alone would take up at least 31 DVD's.

Re: Installed Applications Lister?

Hehe....shows you how much I use Everest.

I didn't recall they even had a "Report Wizard".

What will they think of next? (Go with the HTML)

(Edit) BTW Rxdoxx See Profile, pretty cool program that "SIW" (Kind of like Everest on Steroids).

Or did you mean the program?

Everest will work just fine for your list. I just looked at mine. Pretty neat....I just looked at that "Wizard" again....you can do a "quick report" of ALL pages too. Cool!

Re: Installed Applications Lister?

LOL...I realize what you meant now.
We're only talking a silly list here...what ever floats your Boat.

In the time it took all of us to produce this thread, you could have performed a clean install and installed every Program available in the Northern Hemisphere by now.

(I always liked saving my "favorites" list in HTML).

I had originally posted that I was surprised that you never saw Everest before but you were referring to Rxdoxx's post (not Everest).
