| Well if you've been coming here for years, you will realize that the search button will lead you to all manner of posts about sales, rebates and special incentives. Right?

| reply to MeNaCeDog If you are a home user then you should not worry about buying equipment really. Most services will give you thier adapter and let you use it until you cancel the service. You can even buy the adapter for yourself and keep it forever in Best Buys or Circuit City with rebates they have. The choice is up to you. The ones you can find in store are Packet8, ATT Call Vantage and Vonage. I would stick with one of these two..Vonage or ATT Call Vantage...obviously my choice would be ATT CV since I use it and love it.. -- TALKABOUTVOIP.COM VOIP FAQ's Questions Answers Professional Help |

| reply to MeNaCeDog I ws going to go retail and buy the adaptor, but I ended up ordering Vonage over the phone. I don't know how much of a "deal" it was (meaning they might offer it to everyone), but I got no activation, first month free and the adaptor for $9.95 shipping. I upgraded shipping to next day. The rep was kinda vaque as to how the disconnect fee worked. They'll refund/waive the disconnect fee if you send the equipment back to them. I tried asking her if that still applied even if I bought the equipment, but couldn't get a 100% positive answer. So, I went with theirs. What's neat about Vonage is the referral program. Each person you refer and signs up (for 2months?) gets a free month, while the referrer gets two months. I read on here that someone has enough referrals to have free phone service for the next two years. |
