[DTA310] Unlocked with AR16O firmware.

I knew I saw that device someplace..

Here is the link to another manufacturer that has firmware for it and also online DOCS, and release notes, etc..

I would imagine Packet8 will lock it to their service.. but, you never know if it would take the Leadtek firmware (unlocked??)

I got to re-stock my supply of old DTA310 units, so I can keep up! They are the same chip -- anyone want to try the firmware from them on an old (useless) DTA310 device? It just might unlock some cool features..?! The Leadtek firmware might offer the DTA310 a current SIP compatible mode in an "unlocked" form.. Since I am all out of DTA310's right now, I can not make any claim that this will work or not.. anyone want to take a leap and test the theory?

Let us know if this works.
Go here and grab the "Call In One AR16O" firmware if you dare.. »support.sipphone.com/?_a=downloads

DTA
It works! I just loaded the AR16 Firmware into my DTA-310 and it boots with that firmware... I noticed that these were very similar devices a while back... posted in the forum, but could never find the firmware. Nice job! Now to see if it works any better with this firmware...

Edit: it seems there are new options to configure too...

Coolness! Let us know if you can make it work with other service providers, and pass along any tips/tricks.

Kewl!! I'd love to mess around with it but I don't have any extra dta's. I don't want to mess up my P8 service...

Keep us posted on anything you find such as CODECs, etc. I also want to know if you can upgrade back to the P8 firmware after you do all this and if anything will remain the same.:)

Well, it works right away with Broadvoice now... i changed the dialplan to "1xxxxxxxxxx|x.T|x.#" because it wasn't dialing out with the default dialplan... Inbound with caller id works too.

Edit: i also renamed the .rom firmware file to a .bin file just in case... this shouldn't make a difference though.

I'm afraid I've just killed a 'good' DTA-310 loading the AR-16 file ;-( So be warned!

Hold on... I've finally got it to reboot, but it's in a wierd state. I'll change the items I can and follow-up.

What I want to know if can you reload a Packet8 firmware after this is done and will it mess with Packet8 service?

I would like to try this firmware and set the DTA to run at the uncompressed CODEC (can't remember the name). Then I want to load the DTA firmware and still have it work. Or better yet, I would like to use this new firmware WITH Packet8 service and skip their firmware altogether.

Got it to work with FWD!!! works with echo test, 1800 numbers, and FWD numbers... Incoming caller ID and audio are working... here are the settings:

Server Address: fwdnat.pulver.com
Port: 5082
Domain Name: fwd.pulver.com
I used this dialplan to test: xxx|xxxxx|*1xxxxxxxxxx|x.T|x.#

Codecs, G711U, G711a, G723

wouldn't work right with just fwd.pulver.com in both settings?!?!?

One thing i have noticed with the new firmware is that the lights on the front don't seem to work the same... the power light now blinks and the rest of the lights are off, until you pick up the phone and get a solid green on the "phone" light like before.... it almost looks dead, but works great!

Seems to be working ok now with Stanaphone... no loss of either side of conversation on in or out calls. I've only set it with the 711u&a and didn't change too many other items purely out of fear!

My link light flickers rapidly constantly. The phone light is on when on line. The Power light seems to be a data indicator and flickers with use and briefly at seemingly random intervals.

It's quite possible the units were built in a join venture with 8x8. As IIRC, 8x8 is a fabless company, they just do design/developement.

Now let us go for the real test someone with Packet8 account should try to upgrade using this file, this may result in unlocking the SIP page for the Packet8 account

I can tell you that the sip13.12 firmware unlocked is useless

Packet8 hard-coded several key settings (sip server and domain) so when u change them, they change back !

I did not post it for that reason-- its no good for non-packet8 uses.

I have the AR16 firmware working with asterisk

I cheated! I had the DTA310 configured using 12.35 and upgraded to this AR16 and it worked!
I will make note of the settings if it will help for config reference..
