| Party girl throws big HIV scare into military
»washingtontimes.com/upi-breaking···953r.htm
Canada's Department of National Defense has issued a nationwide warning to soldiers who may have had sex with a fun-loving woman who has AIDS.
Jennifer Murphy, 31, has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault after allegedly engaging in unprotected sex at Canadian Forces Base Borden without informing her partner she was HIV-positive.
The national alert was put out because the Borden base, 100 miles north of Toronto, has around 3,200 teaching and support staff, and another 15,000 soldiers, sailors and air personnel rotate through every year as students before being deployed elsewhere.
Investigators with the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service told the Toronto Star their probe has left them uncertain how many soldiers Murphy may have slept with and possibly infected with HIV.
Various soldiers contacted by the newspaper said Murphy was a fun-loving woman from Newfoundland, a fixture at parties on the base, a regular at the bars in town, and one who seldom left parties on her own. Hope most of the soldiers listened to all those lectures soldiers get on using condoms. If not, oh well!! -- My Web Page My Blog Join Red Room Forum |

| reply to GOLFnSUN I use condoms regularly and "religiously" (pun intended?) and have still had some break. Also, they are not 100% effective in preventing the spread of HIV. The one positive thing these soldiers have going for them is that the rate of transmissions from an infected female to a male is much lower than the opposite situation. Also, I recommend that anyone who engages in any kind of behavior which can spread HIV/AIDS be tested every 6 months, as that's the threshold for how long it can take for antibodies to be detected. Other STDs, get tested for regularly. |

Well, it isn't Rocket Surgery, but it's important to make sure no air is trapped in the reservoir tip when rolling it on. Correctly sized is another important thing, although probably not an issue for most. Too large a condom could technically increase the risk of it falling off and too small a condom increases breakage risk as the Latex, or Polyurethane, etc.. is stretched too much. Or so I've heard. I'm saving myself for marriage.
said by xanthuos :"Also, they are not 100% effective in preventing the spread of HIV. One of the main reasons for this is that the virus requires direct entry to the bloodstream, so even if a condom breaks or in unprotected sex, a man (or woman) would require a point of entry into the bloodstream like a cut or scrape, open sore..etc.
The usual cause for this to occur in a man or woman, I understand, is having another type of VD. One reason for the huge rate of infection in sub-Saharan Africa and certain Asian Countries is the high rate of "other" STD's increasing the transmission rate of HIV. -- I've always figured that if God wanted us to go to church a lot, he'd have given us bigger behinds to sit on and smaller heads to think with.--P. No the reason is the unchecked abuse, and rape of women, the aids stds are just byproducts of a systemic culture of sexual assault. -- Ain't nuthin but the blues! "Albert Collins". anything thicker then spit is able to transfer easily(excluding mucus) but enough spit can transfer it(someone ballparked it at 10liters) |
