 firefox localhost:loopback with Outpost firewall??

Dear all,

May i know what is this localhost:loopback? it shows in the outpost network activity column, whenever i started the firefox, it shows the following two columns:

[1]FIREFOX.EXE localhost:loopback 3596[remote port] 0 Bytes 591 Bytes Mozilla Firefox LocalHost connection 1 bps OUT 03:45:18 PM 9 min(s) 41 sec(s) localhost:any TCP 3597 ---

[2]FIREFOX.EXE localhost:loopback 3597[remort port] 634 Bytes 0 Bytes Localhost Connection 1 bps IN 03:45:18 PM 10 min(s) 37 sec(s) localhost:loopback TCP 3596 ---

If I am using the IE, there is no such thing being shown at the outpost, is this normal for firefox with outpost firewall? The localhost loopback will be gone as soon as I close firefox.

Thanks.

system windows 98 + firefox 1.0.2 + outpost 2.5 + 56kb dialup

Re: firefox localhost:loopback with Outpost firewa

loopback is used for the browser's cache:
IE uses UDP for loopback
Firefox/Mozilla uses TCP for loopback
