if you're using only 1 pc, then just set it to bridge mode so that you login to streamyx whenever you want to go online, or u prefer not to login anytime, can set to router mode so that the modem logins for u... and later on when you decide to have a few more PCs to share the streamyx, can just plug a switch into the modem while it is in router mode so all PCs have internet access.. |

hello everyone, i recently bought an aztech dsl600e modem, and i found out that i can actually set the modem to be in router/bridge mode. however, i dont understand what are the functions of being in router mode or bridge mode. can anyone be kind enough to give me a simple explanation?? so far im using the modem at home with my pc, 1 unit only... which mode should i be using ah??
thanks in advance!! I'm using the ADSL Aztech 305E modem.
"IMHO" the router mode is where you dial from the modem (web interface).
The bridge mode is where you dial/connect using the winxp dialer or third party dialer..etc. Eg. RasPPPoe.
Here is some photos of router mode / bridge mode. |
