Consumers will go where they can get the best deal. If DVR set top boxes offer the most customizable features and satellite companies or other cable companies offer more features for less money then the consumer will flock to them. The cable companies would be better off controlling these things in the set top boxes that they offer or simply offer the better set top boxes for more money if people want to skip the commercials. |

Also, all of what you record stored on a cable company controlled box? You would not think that they may gather any sort of numbers on what you watch? Just think of some of your favorite TV channels eliminated because nobody was recording any shows on that channel. |
