[DIRECTV] direct tv dish pointing

Hello all hopefully someone can help me. My problem is this.
I set up a triple lnb dish on my home and using the receiver I checked my signal strength. I'm in NY and the dish should be pointed to Az 242 El 30 tilt 56. I found i get sat 101 and 110 great 95+ sig strength but no sig for 119. I have a clear view of the sky until I get to about 250 az then some trees get in the way. I'm guessing i'm just not getting the sig but I've tried numerous adjusting and just can't that 119 sig. I've checked the lnb and its good.
1.Could those trees at 250 az be my problem?
2. even if they were the problem wouldn't some part of the sig get through?
Thanks all ahead of time for responding.

Based on the info you have given the trees are blocking 119. A bearing of 242 points to the 110 sat, to reach the 119 sat one needs to rotate west 9 degrees. But ... trees are in the way at a bearing of 250, only 8 degrees from 242. And, yes, if a tree or some other structure is in the direct path, the signal can be completely blocked.

Solution: Move the dish higher such that the path to the sat is over the trees. Move the dish to the north such that the path is over the trees. Move the dish east to clear the trees. Or, a combination of all three.

You might have to call a tree man to do some limb pruning. I had the same problem with Dish and DirecTV when I was on LI.

Had to trim limbs both times. One of the limbs was my neighbor's, but they let me trim it.

You're pointing at a speck in the sky (that you can't see) that's what, 22,000 miles away ?? As I understand it, there isn't a wide "beam" that's coming down, but a very narrow beam. When aiming the dish, it's literally all or nothing. Once you get a signal, the tiniest adjustment can result in a large increase in signal strength, it's that precise.

Since you are getting the two adjacent birds and not the third my guess would be (without obvious obstruction) you screwed up the skew (rotation) angle. The one you should peak on is 110 and then adjust skew so that 101 and 119 are the best balance posible.
You aren't looking at a spot... you are looking at a very precice 18 degree stripe in the sky.

119 Can be a pain, especially without a meter. What type of dish do you have (brand) With the exception of KTI & Winegard most of the elevation stamps are off by a few degrees.

They could have used a SuperDish. That's the reason for them, to pick up (3) satellites.

One sat was the international and one for local channel they said they couldn't get all on one dish. Both of mine are superdish's though.
