I've called 4 times and been shut down. No go here, tried 3 times and they're not budging, and I haven't had the time to truly butt heads and be on hold forever yet.
When I finally do they're not going to like me because I just saw they reneged on the promise to cut the rate for us here prior to this deal as well. So I'm not going to be a happy camper over the phone... and I could care less if an offer is still open or not.
Way to drop the ball SBC.

 clinky join:2003-08-04 Lincolnwood, IL | To all those who've almost given up, don't. My friend had the same problem, always told he can't get it or he needed LD package BS. I told him to suck it up and be more firm on the next call. Rejected 4 times. Then I told him to just say something like this with a pissy voice, "if you can't provide the service that I require then I would like to cancel my current dsl account immediately and just move over to cable, I bet they would be very happy and give me better customer service with no hassles about LD."
No sooner did he finish that thought when the rep says, "I'm sorry you feel that way, let me put you on hold and ask my manager" and the rest is history. The manager says okay, then they confirm your number and do a distance test and say you qualify. End of story. I don't know what holds more weight, the cancellation bit or that your gonna get cable. Anyway, just keep trying and be more affirmative. |

Yes, I just renewed for a year at the $29.99/mo rate and I don't use SBC for long distance, just local, though I do have the usual add-ons such as caller ID etc. In fact, I called in ready to renew at the old price when the rep told me I would save an additional $10/mo with their limited time promotional plan. I came here to spread the word about the special rate, only to find this thread (I really should drop in here more often). |
