| BT Broadband through a Safecom SBRU-10100 router?
I'v been trying for the past week to get my bt bradband to work when i put it behind a Safecom SBRU-10100 4 port router, i'm a novice at this so am unsure what to setup, i have run through the basic setup's of both systems and can access them seperately, but not together?
dose anyone have any ideas as to how i can set this up?
as many of you will be aware phoning BT direct gives no help as they only provide support for their products and cannot even give me a clue as to how to fix it
i'd be very greatful for any help, or links to other forum's etc, where a solution has been posted.
BT Modem, Voyager 205 ADSL Router Router, SafeCom SBRU-10100
that's all i can tell you, as i say a bit of a novice, too many number's that's the problem |

| Hi there,
i got a Safecom router in connection with a Webstar cable modem and BlueYonder. All I did was plug the network cables from my computers to the router -> connected the router to the cable modem -> turned computer on -> opened browser and it was working. So, at which point do you have a problem? |

| reply to kin_ell the BT modem connected as yous directly with no need to muck about, but as a login and password is needed to activate the line which "supposidly" the modem has saved when i connect it behind the router the pc cant find the internet connection, i'l try it again later when i got time and i'l see if i can give more light to where it falls.
cheers for actually replying |

| reply to kin_ell I've spent hours trying to get/keep mine going. IIRC the IP address of the router and network were the same (or something like that). Once sorted, it worked ok for a while then the web just stopped working until a reboot of router, then again and perhaps an unplug this time. Sometimes it would not work again, then it would. It is worse with xp sp2 than with sp1. Every time i accessed the s/ware (when it let me in)it stopped working. To say it is flakey is a bit of an understatement. Last week i decided to change it and bought a cheap D Link DI-604 from amazon on their cheapo 'no cost' delivery. Plugged it in as per the instructions, turned on the pc and away it went. The s/ware is stable and it hasn't dropped the connection at all yet For info i'm not connected via BT out here in the sticks , but via w3z and pppoe (w3z.co.uk)
Cheers.
