| [Vonage] Vonage gets worse after TW Digital Voice starts
Perhaps it is just a concidence but ever since Time Warner has started Digital Voice as an VoIP solution in this area, Vonage has seemed to go downhill.
I make calls and get nothing. I call and people can hear me, etc.
Seems like longer delays yet my ping times seem great.
Any chance TW is doing some type of QoS or something to give packet priorization? |

I have Road Runner as well.
My feeling is that they are giving favored routes - playing with the route metrics - to favor traffic AWAY from Vonage servers. This tactic is very discreet and if and when Vonage finally gets some proof, the FCC will most likely not think to highly of Time Warner.....
Correct me if I am wrong but I think you want to CC the email (to vonage support) to dslreports@vonage.com
I do not trust the Cable providors on this. It is WAY too easy for them to influence routes. This is very hard to catch -- »aerobatix.webhop.net |

I am not necessarily buying into the conspiracy theory but it just seems like a concidence of the timing.
And NO, I dont trust Time-Warner either. |

And NO, I dont trust Time-Warner either. Those of us who work in routed network environments KNOW how easy this is to do (influence routes). You can make 'ping (ICMP) look good but influence other routes
No conspriacy here - just a buisness decision to make a more expensive service seem like the better alternative -- »aerobatix.webhop.net |
