On April 3rd and 4th there was an airshow at MacDill AFB. During many of these airshows they have a Heritage Flight, which could be any number of older and modern warplanes flying together. A couple of years ago at the Dayton Beach Airshow they did a P-51D, F-86, and F-15C Heritage Flight, now that was cool. -- Proud Member of: Team Discovery BroadbandGaming Admin BBR ET Clan Leader BBr|ET BBR JO Clan Member BBR-JO |

| reply to roozy That is a prop plane, a real RC JET can easily cost $10,000.... I've known a guy who spent $20,000 on his RC Jet, and it was AMAZING how he flew the thing. It used real jet engines and was truly amazing.

I cannot recall the owner/pilot's name, but this was a beauty to see fly again, especially with the Mustang and the Eagle. -- Proud Member of: Team Discovery BroadbandGaming Admin BBR ET Clan Leader BBr|ET BBR JO Clan Member BBR-JO |

1 edit | reply to lemke That was a nice video, thanks - especially since the real F14s were built just up the road from me in Calverton.. I work with a few former Grumman employees that built them.. Back in the day, it was fun to just sit on the side of the road and watch them take them out for their test flights.. Now, we just have one of them mounted on the side of the road - truly an impressive plane to see
Thanks again! -- "Make it idiot-proof and someone will build a better idiot." |

That's a potentially very dangerous "toy."
I recall almost 30 years ago the feds forced Bert Rutan's aircraft company to stop production on the Bede-5 personal jet plane because of the potential risks with terrorists.
It's surprising to see something like this exists nowadays. It would be almost trivial for someone to load this thing up with explosives and steer it at a commercial or military jet with disastrous consequences. -- Subtlety is wasted on the dense... »www.fuzzyrat.com |
