| dns issues tonight in Chicago?
see post at »[FireFox] multiple tab loading keeps timing out
Firefox/mozilla tab loading (7 of them total in use) keep timing out, diff tabs each time, but usually 3 or 4 wont load per prog start.
Maybe its SBC's dns servers that are having issues? How can I tell? -- No Smoke? Then it's gotta be either a glitch in the Software, or the way that you have it configured! |

1 edit | Its definitely the dns servers.
I programmed my router to use 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 (I think that these are verizon's dns servers) and everything works fine.
SBC folks, how do we let those in charge know about this?
I sent IM to AmeriTech. |

Once overridden to 4.2.2.1 & 4.2.2.2, everything loaded much faster.
Even power cycled modem to see if it might pick up new ones(presuming that the usual chgo dns servers were having issues). Router picked up same ip's as you had. |

| reply to wmgoat As Jan (gosh I cant recall that whole username) and I can both confirm, the SBC Chicago DNS servers SUCK. I had major headaches on them, but going to a new DNS fixed everything right up. Pingplotter shows large amounts of loss to the chicago primary, over 10x more than the michigan. |

RadioDoc 58ef2c0 Premium,ExMod 2000-03 join:2000-05-11 | reply to techjoe Jan's got other issues with his setup unrelated to the suckiness of any particular DNS server. I've not seen any problems here, but that doesn't mean your POP may not be having problems. I'm on Chicago, Redback 5. |

I'm not convinced it's the DNS servers for sure. -- My Blog. Because I desperately need the acknowledgement of others.

1 edit | reply to wmgoat Dunno.... But past two days have been dialup slow here. Wouldn't you know it... I'm trying to get at some beta code these past two nights...
SOMETHING sucks in the past two days... and from what I have determined, it seems to be downstream of my system here.
